Bidrage med feedbackI had lunch here. the waitress did not speak English, but she had an English menu. eating was on the better side of the average. some of the better food I had in meersburg. despite a language barrier, the waitress was attentive. the question came to...Paying this restaurant does not take credit cards. the restaurant is also part of a hotel. the hotel also does not take credit cards. the bank was closed (it was a weekday) and there were no exchange rates in the city despite the proximity to the Swiss. the chief owner allowed me to pay him in US dollars after manually calculating the dollar to euro exchange rate based on the time. I didn't disturb google because I just wanted to pay and go after I was embarrassed. they obviously have a sign that does not say credit cards, but this sign is in German, not English. perhaps not revealing credit cards and then not that for tourist is why the restaurant was empty all the time I was there, while almost any other restaurant in meersburg was very busy.
My man and I decided to eat in this facility at lunchtime and we were not disappointed. it was recommended by our hotel, the viktoria. we chose the set menu that costs under 22 euro. we started with the famous spargle (white spargel.) suppe, which was wonderful and creamy. then we gave a plentiful salad, which we ate next to our main meal, which was delicious. for dessert we had forest fruits, ice cream and saw that were lovely! could hardly be 50 meters away from our hotel as I was so full!
A friend and I stopped at the hotel to bear for dinner on a cool maiabend. no one sat outside, but many sat in the small number of tables. the two sat at a table where another. the dome has already been fed. we smiled at the other couple, exchanged with them a good evening and had a place. the regular and daily menus are available in German, but an English translation is available for the regular menu. our server was very attentive, but only very limited English spoken; I speak German so that it worked well for us. that was wonderful. our spatula cream soup was one of the best soups I ever had. the salat was good and had an excellent selection of sweet in it. we had both fish smells; this was excellent, also the asparagus risotto, which accompanied one of the dishes, was heavenly. our common dessert consisted of a lot of berries that were embroidered with cream and ice. dinner for 2 with a large bottle of mineral water (no alcohol) was 48 euro, but was worth the price well. the common table was also a big plus. we enjoyed our conversation with the couple from stuttgart, which also sat on our table.
Excellent meal. we enjoyed talking to yvonne who helped us translate and give us recommendations. the food and the wine were all spot-on.
The restaurant at the Hotel Baren (Zum Bären) serves up some of the best German regional food I've ever experienced and I've travelled and lived in Austria and Germany extensively. The house Maultashen are the best I've eaten anywhere and are heavenly. Food, ambiance, service,...Gemütlichkeit, this is just an amazing place. So climb the hill, get out of the tourist places many have ranked over this amazing restaurant, and try some incredibly delicious local German food at Zum Bären.
