Bidrage med feedbackFriday afternoons we go out for drinks, to play the 'machines' a bit and then get take-away food...a 'tradition for many many years. This past Friday we went to a bar downtown (did win a bit on the machines) and had decided before hand to order our favorite Chinese take-away food...being 'almond chicken' (gravy on the side) and house 'special' chow mien (which I asked them to make 'spicy') from the Stardust. The young lady said it would be ready in 15 - 20 minutes. We finished our drinks and walked over to pick up our food (had left our car parked close by). Had to wait maybe 2 minutes for our order, enjoyed looking thru the antiques in a show case by the till, owner said it was her brother-in-laws stuff. Our take-away was packaged in plastic bags in a brown paper bag to keep it hot. When we got home it was still very hot and fresh, Both the almond chicken and the 'spicy' special chow mien were excellent! As good as any Chinese food we have had anywhere (including Hong Kong). They included an order of white rice, a couple packets of soy sauce and fortune cookies in the bag.Try the Stardust! Nice surrounding in the restaurant, and WONDERFUL take-away!
The food here is pretty decent, especially off the menu ( great ginger beef). Its just got that nasty unfriendly vibe. The owner is really rude to the staff for some reason. It made us feel very uncomfortable. Too bad we would go more often if it was a nicer atmosphere. Never busy Friday or Saturday evenings, that says something right?
Ordered Wor Won Ton Soup and Egg Rolls at 7 p.m. Delivery service was super fast. After tasting the food I'm convinced they took our food out of their leftover buffet service. Absolutely terrible...3 won tons, 1 shrimp, and 1 slice of BBQ pork in the large order of soup. No flavour. And they call this the "best won ton soup in town"? Total waste of $$.
We have been ordering take-out Chinese food from this restaurant for more years than I can count and it has always been very tasteful & good. When we eat in house, the service is great & quick. Their Won-Ton soup is fabulous.
The egg rolls are the best in town - they are huge, crispy, and stuffed with goodness. Served hot, and paired great with the wonton soup. My mom and I have also ordered the dinner for 1 with sweet & sour pork and chicken fried rice, and were not disappointed. It is a reasonable price, and enough for 2 people plus leftovers. This is my go-to restaurant for egg rolls!
