Drift Inn - Mechanicsville

This is the best crab house we have been to, service is always good, when seated you have room to get out of your seat without hitting the person at the next table which is so nice, crabs are always full and large. I see some people are complaining about service but ours has always been really good or at least we get everything we need in a timely manner. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Worst crab house ever. Owner's daughter has a horrible attitude and treats customers badly, so hope you don't run into her! Crabs were ok but small- definitely not the best around when there are so many other options nearby.

I go to Drift Inn several times each season, sometimes with a friend and sometimes with some of the family, especially for their crabs. They are excellent..best crabs around. They also have other foods, such as crab cakes, oysters, french fries, corn on the cob, etc. Not sure who the other reviewers got as their waiter/waitress, but I have always gotten good service from Dianne and a young guy but I don't know his name. There is also a blonde named Kitten who has been there for many years who is good. The owners, Mr. Mrs. Copsey, are usually there and ready to chat with you. Since this restaurant is on the water, some people come in their boat to eat because there is a pier they can use.

Telling everyone I know to stay away from this place. The worst service ever! The waitress and bartender were blatantly rude.

This is my second review for Drift Inn. The first was not cheap, and I felt it necessary to post another. WOW!!! It was AMAZING! We had a party of 6 celebrating our son 21st bday. The service was impeccable! If we needed something, one of the servers was quick to accommodate. The iced tea was fresh, and separate bowls of limes and lemons were served with the pitcher. The celebration tequila shots were served quickly. My only thought for us passing Tequila trauma (LOL) would be a thicker lime wedge great! We ordered crabs, mozzarella sticks and corn nuggets. They were nice portions and very good. My son and I ordered our usual dozen crabs. As before, we have more than 12. Their crabs are always large and/or heavy. They are freshly steamed, hot and tasty. Just the right amount of spice! My husband got the fried shrimp basket and he said they were the BEST that he had EVER... and he's a shrimp expert. The 6 shrimps were huge, slightly broken and fried for perfection. Our daughter got the grilled crab cake and had no complaints. 3 cakes, soft and fresh. You could definitely say they were grilled. Delish! We ordered 2 soft peeled sandwiches for lunch. I can't wait to dig in! Bravo Drift Inn!! Bravo!
