Bidrage med feedbackWhat an absolute find of a restaurant. It was only thanks to our seven-year-old who wanted a hot meal that we cared for in this beautifully hosted restaurant. The host spoke French and English and was very welcoming. The food (cooked smoked salmon,... chicken breaks for children and ravioli) were all very nice. We would recommend this thoroughly when you come by.
Nice place to eat near the cathedral. Food is good, not as traditional, but locally. You have to taste local beers! You also have English service.
We visit this beautiful little restaurant twice a year and are always looking forward to it. Just for a few hours to lunch and just a few nights a week. Being very busy and the locals seem to love it so that it...be much value on booking to avoid being disappointed. Guided by a beautiful couple, she is in front of the house and speaks English as she lived in Britain for a few years and her husband is the wonderful cook. The menu is on board and is freshly cooked. We had salads and hot food and everything is nicely cooked and so beautifully presented. The prices are very good. Car parking is quite easy to find and about the noon time it is free as the shops roundabout usually close. On our next visit......
We stopped in Meaux for lunch, parked near the town hall and fortunately came over this wonderful restaurant nearby. The place is family-run and the menu is listed on a table, limited, but freshly cooked. They were very welcoming and explained in English the menu to us and we enjoyed a fantastic meal. Very good value for money. We knew we were on a winner, as many locals fed there... a good sign.
A chance visit to Meaux, this bistrot is 3 minutes from the Marie (lots of parking), the restaurant was full with locals at 13.30, I had to wait a few minutes to be seated. The great value concise daily menu is written on the blackboard...4 starters, 5 mains, all simple bistro classics, I chose a grilled goats cheese with grilled lard caramelised apple, crisp leaves not out of a packet dressed with an excellent vinaigrette, for main Poulet fermier a la basquaise, with a glorious gratin dauphinois, just delicious, to finish a generous slice of perfectly ripe Brie de Meaux, washed down with a couple of wines by the glass the bill was under 30 euros. Madame looks after the room with a generous welcome eye, her husband who is the chef “old school skilled” in the kitchen, all in all a lovely neighbourhood bistrot with the added bonus of a terrace in summer.
