We were looking for a place to eat-in, being tired of take out. We saw this place as we were driving by. We like fish and chips so we were in for a treat! My wife had the fried haddock (single piece) with a Caesar salad and I had the fried halibut (single piece) with a poutine upgrade. Very good! The fish was nicely fried with expert batter. The poutine was authentic, in the sense that it was like I remembered from my Ottawa days. The gravy was nice and dark but not too salty and the curds were deliciously melted. Our server James was very helpful and gave us good recommendations. His knowledge and passion were evident and contagious. $55.00 for two. I recommend this Sail Restaurant very highly!

I can't believe how great the fish and chips Are. I'm from Toronto and can not find the Quality and size of Great, Clean and Fresh Fish and Chips like I've had here. You Won't be sorry. Fabulous!

This is a great little place in downtown Meaford. Unpretentious, with great food, and pleasing atmosphere. The name implies fish and chips, which is their specialty, and it is good! We split a 2 piece cod dinner with gravy for the fries, and there was so much we could hardly finish it. The fish was done to perfection, moist and flavourful, with a lightly seasoned crunchy batter. Best we have had in a long time. The chips were fresh cut and fried perfectly. Crispy on the outside, not soggy. The only disappointment was the green what I thought was celery decoration in the coleslaw, it was a green onion. Pretty but inedible. Great place to go for lunch or dinner!

Delicious food crab cakes rival any I've had in NYC or San Francisco ... pleasant service and atmosphere ... reasonably priced. If we lived near we would dine here often. From Columbus, Indiana as well as Phoenix, Arizona area.

Great food. Great service. Reasonable prices. The Caesar salad that came with my meal had huge bacon pieces and was delicious. The $16 special for 2 pcs of fish was enough for 2 folks to split. The purine with steak and the one with bacon was outstanding.
