Burra Burra On The River - McCaysville

Good food , good atmosphere. In a great part of town nice place to walk around and enjoy the scenery

A group of us went to McCaysville for a 5 k last weekend and it was a beautiful day to be outside. After the race we went by Burra Burra for a free soda they were giving away to all the runners. The restaurant was not busy after 3:00. We got terrible service and a lot of miscommunications about where we could sit outside after we had been sitting outside for 35 minutes and the bartender knew we were there. We had to ask for an order that was ordered before my food and got there as I was almost done. The food was good and outside on the deck was great but I sat for 20 minutes with my glass empty as the bartender was texting, waiting to get another beer. Service and workers attitude was awful. I am a bartender and don't understand.

We came to this place as a party of four with high expectations as the outside view was beautiful. As we were seated, our order was taken almost immediately. One person at our table went to the restaurant next to Burra Burra and ordered food from there around the same time that our order was placed. As we waited a whole hour for our food to come out, her order from Twisted Tomatoe was brought, eaten, and finished before our food was even brought out to us. There was not one apology as we waited there for over an hour for our food.

We were super excited about eating here and maybe had high expectations. And i will say The atmosphere was great and the view was even better. We sat outside which overlooked the river and that was pleasant. We had a group of 6 and all tried different things including an appetizer. I have to say the food didn't live up to my expectations. I had bourbon glazed salmon and it Lacked flavor. Someone else got fettuccine and literally had to order another entree because it was so bad. The Philly steak plate was pretty good and the shrimp tacos were good (so I'm told). Another person in our group got that. The river winder (potato wedges basically) were the best thing to all of us. The service was good and the cheesecake was a hit with our group. Other than that we were not extremely satisfied with the food. But the experience and atmosphere was good. Just had lunch here the chicken wings were great, the service fantastic, however their Signature Shepherd’s Pie was horrible. Mostly mash potatoes with frozen carrots and green beans very little brisket and no taste do not order! Service: 5 Location: 5
