The California Diner - Mawson

Excellent burgers, bacon and egg rolls and pasta! Even the chips are delicious. Staff were really friendly and happy to see us and the food arrived quickly. Can't rate them highly enough. If if wasn't so dangerous for the waistline, this would be a three times a week stop ???? Best ever burger with the lot, be prepared for the full sensation!

It's 2016, and this place does not take EFTPOS? Walked straight out once I found out and spent my money at a competitor. EFTPOS should really be a standard feature of a modern cafe.

I can't rate the California Diner high enough. From the tasty burgers to the melts and pastas, the food is delicious and the portions are generous. The staff are friendly and welcoming, I always have a pleasant experience dining here.

Always had great food here, have tried many things in the menu from burgers, breakfast to their fish meals. The service is amazing the staff are always friendly. Coffee is also good. Best burgers ever!

Our walking group (15) arrived at this place last Saturday morning (8am) and wanted to draw tables together to enjoy breakfast and coffee. The owner (or manager?) did not even acknowledge us as we walked in (he wasn't even serving anyone). We politely asked one of his female staff if we could join tables. Her response was a look of distain and a response which floored us "hope you are not just having coffee!". Some of us had egg and bacon rolls which were on doughy soft rolls and were virtually dropped on our tables. I asked for mine to be cut in half to share with my wife. The waitress' response was "we always cut the roll in half!". Well.....it came uncut! All the staff had sour faces, not only with us but other customers as well. They just lost 15 customers every Saturday morning for coffee and breakfast. What sort of business are they running? Goodwill is the key ingredient in any business, but these guys have no idea. Makes you wonder if the business is negatively geared....they appear not to be chasing goodwill and profits! This at a time when Southlands has lost two big cafes only a few metres from this joint.
