Finally some vegan food! You always have a Japanese style lunch set option, and the food is fresh and healthy. A jewel in Matsuyama
This restaurant is a charming spot with friendly staff. They offer two vegan menus, and I went with the curry one which was absolutely delicious! I definitely recommend checking out this coffee shop.
This restaurant is cozy with a laid-back atmosphere. The staff were quick to confirm that the food was vegan when I asked (in Japanese). The portion size was perfect and everything was delicious. I was delighted to find a vegan dessert option. An added bonus is that they use reusable chopsticks and minimal plastic in the cafe.
The atmosphere is warm, and the food is wonderful. There are two menus. One is the paper menu showing three vegan daily specials, A, B, and C. All three of the specials are vegan set meals every day. The laminated menu contains items that include animal products. All of the desserts are always vegan, as are the fresh baked goods. The vegan set meals and the fresh banana and nut muffins are delicious. The set meals are served very fast and piping hot and are some of the best vegan meals I 've had in years of frequent travel in Japan. The owner/cooks are very friendly and interested in chatting with customers. They 're sincerely enthusiastic about macrobiotic and organic food. They speak a little English and understand what the word vegan means quite well. They can inform you about other restaurants with vegetarian food in the area. 1500 yen for a typical vegan set meal. My meal included miso soup, tea or coffee, a salty warm drink that seemed to be miso-based, a bowl of brown rice, a plate of fried fake meat balls with a sweet sauce that seemed to be miso-based, a bowl of fried fake meat balls in a salsa-like sauce with some fresh veggies, a small bowl of hijiki in a mild sauce, and a small bowl of cold mashed potatoes. My tea was served with soy milk on the side. Everything hit the spot.
