Pizza Verde Matsumoto

One of the best pizzas I had in Japan. Visit Matsumoto from Tokyo for a few days and sample this excellent Italian restaurant. The food was excellent, with excellent service, fair prices and a varied menu. You can order with an iPad at the table and you can customize your pizza with additional toppings if you want. The below assessment of Fintan is invalid. The staff was very welcoming and they took our contact details when they had to come into contact for any cases of corona virus. Very recommended.

The pizza was wonderful! It exceeded my expectations. The crust was particularly attractive. We had no waiting time on a Friday night, but this place should be packed in my modest opinion. The local IPA was great and I enjoyed half-green salad. I highly recommend it!

So it is somehow difficult to find a real star rating for smaller places like this, with few reviews. In this case, five stars are all perfect? No, of course not. Means that I would go back / have no real concerns that recommend it to friends, certainly. I am confiscated by the numerous star, no word reviews. While I can see that this place is not every cup of tea, would I ever be able to say a star? No way. The fast tl:dr is if you want some of the best pizza in Matsumoto and are not really a sticker for beautiful shops or large open places, this is the place for you. The good points are the food and service. Lunch looks like it's a great time to go as there are various reasonable lunch sets, with the same kind of pizza you can expect as at dinner. The server was friendly and the owner also (although a little tip, it is a little strange to talk about all foreigners who come and visit Matsumoto for so long with a Japanese family while there are at least 3 such foreigners sitting in the ear shot. A good number of us speak Japanese! Pizza was delicious, definitely the best I had so far in Matsumoto. Cream Brule was also good when a bit on the petite side. Good selection of imported beer and some local materials as well. The bottom is a small shop, with only 14 seats at the bottom. So you don't go there for brilliant decor. It's secret and good, but you come for the pizza, first and foremost.

Best pizza in Japan so far. The base was so fluffy. Soft and crispy. Amazing. Can really taste the freshness of the ingredients. Must go again
