Jose Bistro - Matina

Had dinner here Monday night. Party of 6 high school students (uniform apparent). Had the Southern Fried Chicken. It was tasty, u fortunately the thicker piece was raw and bloody. To the kitchens credit, they took back BUT saved me the same piece I had cut up so it looked butchered! Didn't finish it cos it wasn't appealing anymore though orig it had good taste along with its accompanied cream sauce. Waiter is novice as I sat there for awhile,ready to order but didn't help me until 10min., even for beverages. No tissue even though i had asked. Frustrated, I left. Hoping they fix the issues as food was tasty.

José offers almost all the savory comfort food dishes my heart desires! Swear! Lechon kawali, buttered prawns, cheese sticks... I could just go on. I name it, they got it! Now what I like about this place and what sets it apart from other comfort food restos is they keep dishes as simple as possible but then also find ways to add a twist to dishes that can afford it. Like lechon kawali, it's simple to make but can easily go wrong when undercooked, more so when overcooked. Jose does it perfectly, tenderness and flavor in par with my standards! And then they also do twists like turon with cheese! I mean anything with cheese right? But whoever thought about turon with cheese, now that is genius! Apart from the food, I also had a shake, a saba shake. As in, saba, plantain shake, and I did not expected to love it so much I wish all other restaurants would offer it too! There is nothing like the feeling of discovering something new you love!

It's already vacation and I miss chatting with my friend so I invited her to hang out. We decided to have a bucket somewhere and I remember this new food hub. I searched Jose Bar Bistro here in Zomato and their menu is pretty well convincing. We went there late afternoon. It's quiet since there's no other customer that time. There's a family seated near the counter and I think they're the owner (Probably Jose, his wife and their kid. Just a wild guess, haha! They only have one lady crew. She's silent but courteous, I think she's a bit shy. She served us water and the menu politely. Me and my friend decided to have our dinner first since it's already dusk. We ordered Crunchy Sisig Buffalo Wings, the rice was not included. (Please update your menu, thanks! The place is nice and calm. But they only have few seatings for the customers, it's nice to chitchat with your company but with a small tone of voice because you might disturb other people inside (Therefore not that a good place to grab a bucket, haha! . Though, I love the design of their bar counter. The comfort room is located outside but within the building, you will just walk through a hallway and it looks creepy like in the horror films (Too much imagination! Haha! , and you will encounter lots of mosquitoes there, I hope the maintenance of the commercial building could solve it. I like their Crunchy Sisig! And the Buffalo Wings was just too salty. All in all, Jose Bar Bistro is good for a fine dine, their food has favorable servings and affordable. You too must visit the place! : P.S. The photos were grabbed from my friend.

Nice little restaurant. Food tastes good. Big servings and affordable prices. The only issue that we had was that a lot of the items on their menu were not available.
