Maximus Lounge - MATERA

Our B&B in Matera provided vouchers for us to walk a hundred metres down the road to enjoy breakfast at Maximus every day. We had freshly squeezed orange juice, savoury pastry/focaccia, excellent cappuccino and a sweet treat as well. Service was sometimes slow, as it’s a popular place, but we’re on holidays and in no rush, so didn’t mind waiting. Even though we didn’t pay, we noted the prices which are most reasonable for the freshest of pastries and great coffee. Close to tourist office. Worth popping in if you are nearby and they don’t close when many other places do in the middle of the day.

We had our breakfast here as we had a b&b voucher to use. the coffee and the pastries were lovely, just the staff lacked a little attention to detail. long chats with friends instead of serving customers, but as they were all smiling, this can easily be overlooked.

Great gellato and ice coffie. I havent tried anything else but they looked delicious. Its little bit outside of city center but place met my expectations.

Ottima colazione, il latte macchiato di Mary insuperabile. Solo lei lo sa fare cosi. Ogni volta mi vizia. Grande Mary.
