Cantina Mercurio - MASSA

A pilgrim’s dream restaurant! After a long day walking the via Francigena, we arrived in Massa at the hostel. 100 feet away was this gem restaurant with charming decor, friendly and helpful staff, good music, and above all, superbly prepared and presented authentic Tuscan food, all homemade on the premises. The two pasta primi dishes we had were savored sauces simple but delicious and the homemade pasta noodles were the perfect texture. Our secondi was Baccalà in a red sauce…. So incredible. We can’t sing enough praises for this fine restaurant thst is steps away from the hostel. This experience is not to be missed.

My wife and I ate lunch there today and we've already reserved a table for dinner tonight. Everything is so fresh and made on site. We both had the taglialini primavera--fresh spinach pasta with cherry tomatoes, olives, basil, and garlic. It was a revelation! The fresh pasta had so much texture that it carried a generous amount of sauce with every bite. The ingredients were perfectly fresh and delicious. Each flavor came through distinctly, and the total plate was divine--the best pasta I have ever eaten. We also had glasses of the house rose, which was robust and delicious. Don't miss this one!

Excellent pasta (e.g. with spinache). Perfect service. Good conversation in English and French. Not expensive at all.

Excellent dinner, casually found one evening with summer storm that led us to find shelter first on the road. in the center of mass offers typical dishes prepared at the moment with genuine products, great wine, beautiful atmosphere .

After a different time we returned to this place. excellent traditional dishes, accompanied by a friendly and attentive service, you feel at home. recommended!
