Bidrage med feedbackIt’s a stifling hot evening it was when I arrived and not a breath of a breeze. Le Pistou, in homage to the usual French tradition of seeming to be closed more days than they are open, serve dinner generously from pm on Saturdays! But at least they had a table for me, so I shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth... Excellent range of local wines by the glass, including top estates. They are busy, hence I saw my St.Jacques sitting under the lamp on the pass for some time, so they arrived a bit overcooked. The thousand island glaze on the serving slate was a somewhat retro and was a bit but the quality was still quite good. I’ll see what the entrecôte steak is like. I asked for it ‘blue’. Let’s see. As you can tell, I can be a bit of a customer from hell for the complacent French, but tonight I am in a relaxed mood. And the staff are very pleasant. They even smile. French restauranteurs take note! Given that many local restaurants struggle to open at any sensible time and are reluctant to even offer you a table, I really love this place it is probably rather than but I think I’m happy to stick it at four stars. It would be laughed out of court in Chelsea or Knightsbridge or Fulham but this is arrogant, complacent, provincial France and they have a lot to learn yet. But compare to some deals I’ve had in France this is actually quite good. Every time I speak to chefs or entrepreneurs in France, I invite to come to London to see what a real vibrant restaurant scene is like COVID being an exception at the moment, clearly., G
We were staying local to the restaurant and it was only short walk away from the chateau Lantic. We didn't make a reservation and me and the wife turned up on spec. We were shown to a table straight away and made to feel very...welcome. The menu was large enough to accommodate everyone and small enough to know it would be fresh and to order. We were not disappointed, the food was fantastic, the foie gras starter was divine and both our mains were spot on. The staff were helpful and attentive and assisted my modest French. We accompanied the food with a bottle of reasonably priced wine and it really made the evening. Thanks for helpful no us celebrate
We stayed in a chateau near by and were directed to this restaurant. We were very pleased with the taste and presentation of the different courses. Even the house wines by the glass ,which are from local castles, were of excelent quality, esp. comparing to...house wines that are usually served. A round table for is available upon request. We would definitely go back.
We have had several visits during the years and the last time was so we were excited and had great expectations and le pistou delivered We had menu terroir and vegetarian options and no one was dissappointed quite the opposite le pistou delivered good...service and quality food
The venue is spacious and well lit. I ordered a steak Tartare which was sized generously and very well seasoned. My family's dishes were solid too. This restaurant won't blow your socks off but is definitely more competent than other restaurants in the area.
