The staff is fantastic and the atmosphere exudes classic Italian charm. Tucked away in a small college town nestled in the stunning North Carolina mountains, dining here is both delightful and budget-friendly. Mrs. Lila's cakes are truly life-changing and worth seeking out.
Papa Nick's has recently started offering vegan cheese, but even without it, their veggie pizza is delicious. They don't skimp on the toppings and offer a variety of veggies to choose from without charging extra. As a former New Yorker and pizza aficionado, I can say that Papa Nick's pizza may not be like NYC pizza, but it is still tasty and dependable. Their large garlic knots, which they call garlic rolls, are also a hit and are vegan. I like to add a little salt to them, although they can be quite oily. We always order a dozen and save some for later snacking at home.
Papa Nick's may not always have vegan cheese available, but they are willing to make a pizza with a variety of vegetable toppings without cheese. The vegan cheese they use is locally sourced when possible. They offer a veggie pizza with five toppings of your choice at no extra cost, which is a nice change from other places. As a self-proclaimed pizza snob from NYC, I can attest that Papa Nick's pizza is not like New York pizza, but it is still delicious and dependable. They also serve large, delicious garlic knots (referred to as garlic rolls) that are vegan. I simply add salt to them and they are perfect, despite being quite oily. We always order a dozen and save some for snacks at home a few days later.

As a self-proclaimed pizza snob from NYC, I must admit that I really enjoy Papa Nick's pizza. While it may not be like New York pizza, it is consistently good. Their garlic rolls (similar to garlic knots) are also a hit - they are large, vegan, and tasty. I personally like to sprinkle some salt on them, but they can be a bit oily. We always order a dozen and save the leftovers to enjoy as a snack later on.
