St. Martin Seafood - Marrero

We have ordered 4 different dishes that were on the menu, 2 of them were unavailable. The food was really average and my sea food platter was barely fresh, a big disappointment. The positive note, a friendly staffs.

Slightly off beaten track we had read reviews and checked at the hotel we stayed at, supposed to be good. Has booked ahead the day before and they tan people in like the sardines they serve. Starter was lovely tbf . Ordered the special of the day garlic local prawns and my wife ordered tuna. I got seven tiny prawns for 23 euro, wife had tuna with siracha all over it. Asked the waitress if their had been a mistake with our mains being small stater portions. “I see that as good value 7 prawns for 23 euro” the platters next to us looked really good. As with all restaurants in Ile de re they don’t have to serve good food due to the number of tourists arriving but for a country so passionate about food this stuff on this island isn’t even Wetherspoon quality for Ramsey prices. Come on chefs cook food. avoid this place though it’s a shambles and pricey

If you like seafood this is a must visit. Don’t be put off , because of where it is. The food isn’t all raw. The staff are AMAZING and So friendly. We found this place on our second day , and we will certainly be going back again before the holiday is over .

Oh dear … what has happened to this place. It was our second time but sadly things have gone down hill. The owner was rude and has an attitude problem towards English speaking guests. We had a small cramped table. It took over 45 minutes for our Lobster starter to arrive which was served hot with melted butter. It was so tough it was like eating rubber bands and tasteless. Inedible. We then waited another 30 minutes for a our main course Prawns, Langoustines and dry crabs claw poorly presented on badly chipped plates. The owner meanwhile was busy parading a dripping wet live Lobster around the restaurant. Nothing like the frozen imported variety we were served. The toilets are disgustingly dirty and feature inappropriate cartoons on the wall and would not pass any health and safety inspection in the UK. Avoid the ridiculously hyped place.

Excellent seafood on a double platter to share. Friendly staff but slightly slow service however they made up for it with a free glass of wine each. Great food tho, worth a stop off here.
