Unfortunately disappointing. The setting is beautifully and the menu seemed very promising for somebody looking for gastromic Moroccan food. However, it all fell a bit flat. The dishes were of good quality but not that exceptional nor innovative to write home about. They were a bit more refined then in other restaurants but not enough to justify the prices. Also don't expect any form of effort on the presentation of the dishes. The service was attentive until the starters were served. After that the staff focused mainly on the new arrivals or was not present except when it came to handing us the menu to encourage us to have desert. We had to ask several times to have refills of our wine and water (not kept at the table so unable to serve yourself). For the price category and the fact we were only 3 tables total that evening I expected impeccable service when 4 waiters are manning the floor. Overall I was really hoping to enjoy the experience but left frustrated and in my opinion didn't get my money's worth. Be also aware that alcohol is very expensive if you choose to have some.
Terrible fine dining experience. We have eaten great Moroccan food in Marrakech and wanted to try a “finer” version of it but left disappointed with the food and the service. The place is gorgeous and the setting is great, specially if you sit in the terrace. The attention is good when you get there but the servers start to forget about you as new guests come in; service was extremely slow, even to get our glasses of water refilled. There is no guidance on the menu, we ordered all at once) an appetizer and a lamb shoulder that said it was for two, the server could have warned us that the lamb dish was massive and it was probably enough. The appetizer, a pasta dish in form of pearls with herbs didn’t taste like much, mainly cilantro, but it was supposed to reminisce Italian pesto; not even close. Then the lamb shoulder: they remove the meat from the bone and put it all in the plates, it ends up looking grotesque as you have a mountain of meat sitting in your plate the whole time. It comes with a serving of couscous so in terms of quantity it is very generous, the problem is that the flavors just were not there, the lamb was cold when it got to our table and it didn’t taste like anything, which is crazy considering it’s supposed to be cooked with saffron. Pricing was bad for the quality and experience, they charged us for 750ml of water but we never had the bottle with us so we have no idea how much they actually served us, a small glass of Moroccan mint tea was 50 Dirham ~USD 5) but in the menu it had no price as opposed to all the other teas; you would think it would be a courtesy in a place like that, specially since even in the streets they give it for free. It was a deceiving way of listing it and an insanely overpriced tea. The food was too expensive for the quality, and the presentation of dishes was nothing you would expect in a fine dining place like this. To make things worse, since we left so much lamb we asked for a box to take it home and not throw it away but as we’re about to leave we find out that they had thrown it away. They just said sorry and offered no compensation it was at least half of the whole dish). This is also the first time I do a bad review so you can imagine how bad it was. TL;DR: overpriced and awfully presented bland food in a gorgeous setting with slow and subpar service. Spend your money somewhere else.
The hotel is located in the penthouse of the it saadi palace in marrakech, this restaurant offers exceptional channels of the Moroccan ambiente des palastes and is an architectural masterpiece. beautiful carved stone microsen tip, as sculpted gips tastes the columns. the terrace view is a panorama of the lights of west marrakech, a view to see in the evening. I enjoyed a wonderful dinner with two of my friends. we were very impressed by the beauty and design of the restaurant, since every complicated detail my eyes migrated with amazement. the personal was also delightful, offers a quick service and participation in everything we needed. we were already impressed before we even got to eat! we ordered an appetizer of browns filled with lamb. the baked was tasty and crispy, perfectly cooked and shaped into the remarkable triangle. a large contrast to the teig, the lamb filling was soft and delicate. we ordered a separate day in each case, as we wanted to try as many aromes as possible. my friend shaved with aubergine about her bark brand I tasted at the end. I'm glad I made it! the flesh was so tender, and the aubergine was not rubbery or sponge, but melt-in-your-mouth delicious. my other friend chose sea stream tagine and said it was the best tasting fish he ever had! the cook knew exactly how to cook an already tasteful fish without masking the fresh and the taste. I almost had not enough of my lammschaft tagine for my friends to taste as I enjoyed it so much. with raisons, datum juice and a special it saadi ras el hanout seasoning mix, the lamb was slowly cooked and tasty. we finished with a delicate milkpavilla, with a sweet mix of brighter sawn and rose water. the whole experience was amazing!
Absolutely beautiful with white columns, huge windows, a view of the Atlas Mountains and the beautiful garden, marble floors, impeccable dining service and munter Moroccan music in the background, this is a very romantic place for a fine Moroccan dinner. we ordered the Discovery menu. it was too much to eat. the tajine for one can be completely divided by 2 persons. the part is huge and we had to waste half. what a shame, it was delicious. I would recommend a bit more vegi in the tadschine dish, otherwise it is too heavy with almost half kg meat from itself.
