Bidrage med feedbackWe opted to skip tea at Fung Lam Court on 722 Kennedy Road this morning. Instead, we just had a glass of water. Surprisingly, we were charged $1.20 for each glass of Markham tap water, plus HST, bringing the total to $2.71. We won't be returning to Fung Lam Court.
We had an amazing dim sum experience at this restaurant over the weekend. We were impressed by the generous portions and high quality of the food. Our order included shrimp dumplings, sui mai, shrimp spring rolls, pork spring rolls, plain rice rolls, shrimp rice rolls, rice rolls with deep-fried dough, BBQ pork buns, BBQ pork pastries, and beef noodles with black bean sauce. The spring rolls were well-made and larger than usual, with three instead of the typical two. We were so full that we couldn't finish the noodles, so we took them home. The total bill came to $38, tax included, which we found to be quite reasonable for the amount of food we had. I have been searching for a good dim sum spot for some time, one that offers a good balance of quality and price, and this restaurant definitely fits the bill. However, I must warn that the decor is in need of an update and the bathroom facilities could use some improvement. For those looking to explore the area, I recommend visiting Market Village and Pacific Mall at the northeast corner of Kennedy and Steeles, then heading over to Burger King Plaza on Gorvette Kennedy just north of Steeles on the west side of Kennedy.
We visited Fung Lam Court Chinese twice last week for Dim Sum, located at 7220 Kennedy Road Unit 6, Markham, Ontario, L3R 0N4. The restaurant is open 7 days a week from 9 am to 11 pm. Dim Sum is available for $2.40 on weekdays and $2.70 on weekends and holidays. The kitchen is operated by a father-son duo, with the father overseeing the operations and the son, George Brown, serving as the cook and managing the menu. We also met Margaret, the cook's sister, who was handling the front of house duties during our visit. The restaurant had only been open for six weeks, but we thoroughly enjoyed the traditional Dim Sum dishes, as well as the Shrimp Toast and Sweet Soups. The Shrimp Toast was delicious and the Sweet Soups (Sesame, Almond, and Cashew Nut) served as dessert were enjoyable. There is a wide variety of items on the Dim Sum menu, with only a few items priced above $10. Margaret recommended dishes for dinner such as Crab baked with rum and bread, Crab pan roasted with Soya sauce, and Beef Rib with Honey Pepper. We plan to return in the new year to try more of their dishes.
Checked this place out just because I'm still on the lookout for a good dim sum place.
This review is based on dinner I've been here for dim sum several times before and thought it was a decent place.
