Barhead Hotel - MARKDALE

When I take myself or a friend out for dinner, it's nice to hit a spot where the food is fresh and local. I used to get the local whitefish, but now that I'm a vegetarian I stick mostly to salad. View and location are great and a full service bar for desert!

Great cosy bar and restaurant. Nice fireplace. Very relaxing. A nice place to hang out. Food is totally average. Some of it better than the rest. I had a great beet and orange salad for starters. Tomato and Fennel soup was fine. The chicken on the caesar salad was dry and tough.

There's a good selection on the regular menu - but the specials are always interesting. We've had arctic char, fantastic sole, unique soups - all prepared very well. Prices are reasonable, good beer selection, service can be a bit slow at times. A great go-to place for a terrific meal.

Hidden away but beautiful scenery, always friendly. Eat inside or out on the patio. 1st place we ever went to when we came to Markdale. Use local veggies and food

Jane has always tried to have interesting food,different kinds of fish as well as good pub fare!We miss the fact that it is only open Thursday thru Saturday, but that's life!Regena- the wonderful gal who looks after everyone is always smiling- makes for a happy plce to dine!
