Charlie's - Margate

I was impressed by the diverse vegan menu options at this restaurant. Although I would have liked to see a classic vegan fry up instead of just avocado, the chili and rice dish I had for lunch was delicious. The portion size was generous and I couldn't finish it all, but the friendly staff happily packed it up for me to take home.

This restaurant is a great option for vegan dishes such as mixed grill, breakfast, burger, chill, and bolognese. I decided to try the mixed grill because it's not often seen on menus. It was a large portion with two sausages, two mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, chips, and salad. It was priced at 10.50 €, which I thought was very reasonable for the quality of food. The other vegan meals are around £7 and are also delicious. The atmosphere is lovely and my non-vegan family members were equally satisfied with their meals.

At first glance, this restaurant may not seem vegan-friendly, but as a family of vegans (2 adults and 2 children under 12), we were pleasantly surprised to find a wide selection of labeled options on the menu. From a delicious vegan breakfast to a satisfying mixed grill featuring mushroom patties, chili, and bolognese, this place exceeded our expectations. While I can't speak to their behind-the-scenes processes for non-vegan meals, the staff was incredibly friendly and provided us with quick and hot food. Overall, this restaurant gets a 4 for their non-vegan offerings, but they are perfect for vegans looking for a unique twist on classic cuisine.

Good choice for vegan mixed grill, breakfast, burger, chill, bolognese. I chose mixed grill because it is so rare to see one on a menu! It was huge... could not eat all two sausages, two mushrooms, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, chips and salads. £10,50. Very good food and good value I thought. Other vegan meals are about £7 staff also beautiful and my Omni children and men were equally satisfied with their food.
