The Hotel website states--El Corzo was the first hotel restaurant in Spain to receive a Michelin star; today, it is still considered one of the best restaurants on the Costa del Sol according to the Michelin Guide What they don 't tell you is that they lost it. We had visited the hotel a few months before when checking it out for our daughter 's wedding--and it looked great so on a later trip to Spain I booked it for a late dinner on my birthday on our way from Malaga Airport to our apartment. The first indication something was not right was getting the bread in a cellophane wrapper (breadsticks) and butter in a small plastic tub. The lobster salad we both had as a starter was no more than a small portion of shredded lobster on top of a green salad. We both had a fish dish (turbot and a sole) but both were well over cooked. We did not even bother to look at deserts. A bit of a disappointment for a Michelin treat.The only thing Michelin about this restaurant was the final bill.
