Of the most beautiful beach bars in a privileged place with sea views. arenal beach: chiringuito bar is open all year and has a kitchen all day, including breakfasts. a real luxury to escape' to have breakfast here in front of two beautiful sand dunes in front of the Mediterranean. ideal to relax and, as no, taste Mediterranean dishes, bbq and what is its specialty, fish to the sledge. for this and for the kindness we were treated I recommend.
Eating was delicious and very friendly staff in a great environment with a fantastic view of the beach and the sea
First of all, I want to say how much it upsets me to have to write this review, I always want to find something positive to say about a restaurant but unfortunately on this occasion it is impossible. We live in the area and have...eaten here four times in the last month, mainly due to its position right on the beach and the fact that a lot of places are closed at the moment due to Covid. On our previous visits, the food was generally very good , the service a little errati , with the exception of the excellent Rory who we were fortunate to have looking after us on two of our visits. He is efficient, personable and attentive and would be a credit to any restaurant in Marbella. Unfortunately, although he was working yesterday, he had inexplicably been put in charge of making up the bills and was not out on the restaurant floor. Well, where to begin. We had reserved a table the previous week and had been asked to give a euro deposit with it being New Year's Day. We arrived and sat down at our table. minutes later, after a couple of attempts to get a waiter to take our order, we managed to get some drinks. minutes later we were given a menu and another minutes later someone came to take our order. The restaurant was busy but by no means full but unfortunately the majority of staff most of whom seemed to be relations of the manager obviously had no experience and had no idea what they were doing! Food came out,but nobody seemed to know where it was going and it was taken in and out, sometimes several times before delivery. The people at the table behind us told us they had waited an hour and a half for a plate of cold starters which did not bode well. We had ordered some croquetas de mariscos to share. They eventually arrived almost an hour and a half after we arrived on a plate in a metal basket, no garnish or sauces. Unfortunately they were still a little bit frozen in the centre so went straight back.In the meantime my husband tried times to order a bottle of the House Red with no success. At this point, had we not paid a euro deposit we would have undoubtedly got up and left. In the end, my husband went in to Rory and asked him for the wine. Of course it came promptly after with yet another half hearted apology, we are busy No good enough I'm afraid when you have taken reservations and taken people's money in advance! Another portion of obviously store bought frozen croquetas duly arrived, along with our main courses! By this time we could not be bothered to argue with them. My main was hot,but yet again any attempt at presentation had gone out of the window, it looked like it had literally been thrown on the plate. However my husband's burger and all accompaniments were absolutely stone cold! So that went back and I ate my food alone which I hate. When the burger made its reappearance, it was hot at least but had no cheese, no bacon, no onion rings literally an overcooked hockey puck (the original burger reheated with a bit of lettuce and tomato. Absolutely appalling! Another family member came to the table to clear our plates and asked if the food had been good. We said no. She shrugged her shoulders and walked off without a word. Suffice it to say, we asked for the bill. Then asked again and again. When it eventually came, there was no record of the euro deposit and when we managed to attract the attention of a waiter he took it away and never came back! Guess what? My husband went inside to Rory and he dealt with it. Really we should have asked at the very least for the burger to be removed from the bill but by this time (well over hours after we arrived) we had had enough. No apologies, no offer of a complimentary drink, nothing. As I was leaving and walking away down the boardwalk, the owner/manager ran after me and asked me to come back and have a drink too late. She then said she was sorry but it was very busy not good enough. We eat out at least twice a week and have never experienced anything like this. Being busy is not an excuse to serve terrible food and give such appalling service. If you are not able to give clients great food and great service do not take their reservations and their money. She said she hoped we would visit again. I can safely say there is no chance of that.
