Gratia Bakery Café - Maple Ridge

The coffee at this place is amazing; it has a delightful flavor. The decor is quite charming too. However, the cashier/barista was not very welcoming or friendly. They definitely need to work on that!

Delightful local café full of character! The lattes were masterfully made, and the barista was incredibly warm and welcoming. It's a fantastic place to unwind and savor your day!

I was somewhat disappointed with my experience! We went for lunch and ordered the turkey cranberry sandwich, which had way too much lettuce and only a tiny bit of cranberry sauce. We also tried the spicy chicken sandwich, but it lacked any spice whatsoever! Both sandwiches were quite bland and, considering the prices, not worth it at all. The eggs Benedict with salmon were decent, but the blackened avocado lurking beneath the sauce was off-putting. Overall, I believe this place is better suited for coffee and pastries if you're willing to pay a premium for them.

I visited again today and ordered some pizza bagels for $2 each, and they were surprisingly large! I also tried a lavender latte. It seemed like I arrived during peak hours since there was a line, but the staff handled it quickly and served everyone efficiently. It's evident that this place enjoys a steady stream of customers, and the staff is well-trained to manage the busy periods smoothly.

This bakery and café truly shines in the neighborhood, making a remarkable first impression. Upon entering, you’re welcomed by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor features custom-made furniture and shelves, with a large chalkboard prominently displaying the menu. The pastries are beautifully arranged along the counter, presenting a tempting variety of breads and desserts. I sampled the breakfast sandwich, avocado toast, kale scone, and cannoli, and I was struck by how well the flavors harmonized—each item was perfectly balanced, with no single taste overpowering the others. They also brew their cold brew coffee on-site, and as a coffee enthusiast, I can confidently say it’s among the best I’ve ever had. The food is exceptional, and the overall ambiance of the café is delightful. I will definitely be back for more. Even though I live in Burnaby, this café in Maple Ridge is well worth the journey!
