Bidrage med feedbackCozy gem serving delicious, homemade Japanese “mountain food” — think huge gyoza, hearty rice bowls, and sake. Only open Friday and Saturday and gets busy fast, but worth a wait.
Surprise gem, we went two nights in a row because everything was delicious. The seared ahi don was mouthwatering- the ahi seared just right.
Delicious food. My suggestion though is not to wait until they are close to closing for the day! A lot of items sells out and you'll be sad you missed that one item you hoped was there. Great fuel food after a hike!
What a gem in Maple Falls, WA! This is the real deal, folks. Scrumptious Japanese food. Rice bowls with lots of yummy selections- pork, chicken or tofu for example. I had chicken teriyaki rice bowl and my husband had kotsudon (pork). Miso soup was excellent as was the handmade gyoza (dumplings) for starters. Sapporo beer to quench our mountain hiking thirst. Met the owners- lovely people. The wife (chef) is from Japan. Opens at 4 pm so get there early. Closes at 8. Sushi rolls only once a week- sign up for their Facebook page for menu updates. You must visit if you love fresh Japanese cooking. Seriously we are only an hour away so we know it's worth the drive!!
A delightful hidden gem in the mountains! The food is incredible, and the people are warm and welcoming. If you're passing through, this is a stop you can't miss. Just be sure to arrive shortly after they open to ensure you can try everything you desire.
