Big Buck's Homemade Ice Cream And Espresso

Very good ice cream, didn't really offer topping options to me, and it is very expensive compared to just making some ice cream at home. But a decent experience if you're in town.

Excellent ice cream. Customer service was good. We ordered 3 scoops in a cup. There were a lot of flavors so plenty to choose from. Prices are high but everything is increased in this tourist area.

Full ice cream. Much taste. Beautiful little candy shop too. Good espresso.

It honestly is pretty great and 5-star worthy, but I took off a star because of the price and inconsistency of the scooping. Over the summer, we 've been to both the Manteo waterfront and Corolla locations a lot; probably a dozen times. We definitely will keep going back, but it is expensive. For two waffle cones, it 's over $11 and that 's before tipping, which I always do because the staff at both locations are always friendly. Last year, I had plain chocolate ice cream at the Corolla location and it was the creamiest, most delicious chocolate I 've ever had...I even had others stealing bites. All of us have gotten it chocolate at both locations again later last year and this year and it just wasn 't the same. I guess I got a wonderful fluke. Sometimes, one person 's 2-scoops are pretty small whereas another person 's 2-scoops are heaping and more worthy of the price. The ice cream is very good; I sometimes question just how homemade it is. Maybe it 's homemade by a corporation somewhere, but either way, it 's well above avaerage ice cream. We went yesterday and will likely go back today since we 'll be in Manteo again. We love the Cake Batter ice cream!

We visited this ice cream shop during a quiet period, as tourist season hadn't started yet, so I can't speak to how they handle busier times. I wasn't specifically looking for ice cream, but I was impressed by the variety of options available. I opted for the fudge, which was rich, soft, and delicious—just as fudge should be. Since we were the only customers at that time, the staff member who assisted us was incredibly friendly and patient while we took our time choosing, not feeling rushed. The prices seemed quite reasonable, and I really enjoyed the quirky decorations and fun details throughout the shop. If I find myself in this area again, I will definitely stop by.
