Bidrage med feedbackRunning errands at the end of my day decided to stop by La Magonada or as you 'll see in the resturant name La Magonada Sweet Salty. I really wanted a fresada. Its basically like a magonada but with a strawberry freeze based sorbet , strawberries, chamoy, tajin. If you want something sweet ,fresadas are a bit sweeter than the magonadas which have a tart mixture. Anyways, i got the large fresada which was $9.50. It was an additional 50 cents with card. Usually when i order they are around $6-7. But i did get the biggest fresada that ive ever had it was packed with plenty of the strawberry freeze which i absolutely love. They also layered the drink with strawberries and the freeze so the drink looked really pretty and tropical. The only thing i missed was having a bit more chamoy to the drink. But overall, it was soo good. And if anything you should definitely check this place out because they do serve food here along with their yummy desserts if youre ever wanting to try something besides sweets :
My boyfriend took me to this spot, I've never been here or even knew that it existed. We just had dinner and we're looking for some dessert to finish off our date night. We looked at the menu, but the girl who was working there was also very helpful and ready to answer any questions we had. We decided to both go with milkshakes I got a mint chocolate chip one and he got a strawberry one. She made them fairly quickly and once we paid, we were on our way. While we just ordered milkshakes, the girl who worked there really made our visit a pleasant experience. She was just so patient and helpful, something that is hard to come by now with customer service. I'd stop by again, when in the area and looking for a good dessert.
My family and I used to come here very often. Today was hot and my boyfriend and I decided to go to cook off. I asked one of the girls what is the difference between the Tostilocos and another plate under that said Tostimango or something like that. The girls was very sweet and polite when I asked and just said it's basically the same but instead of cucumber it's mango. But if I want everything I could just add mango to the regular tostilocos I decided to order the normal Tostito adding mango and with no tamarind candy. My boyfriend ordered the tosticeviche. After paying we got our card back, we didn't not get asked or handed a receipt. Didn't think much of it at the time. Getting home I realized that not only did my tostilocos have the tamarind candy, it also had NO MANGO. And my boyfriend tosticeviche had little to no sauce. Just the fruits and seafood. I called, normally I wouldn't but I was extremely upset, especially for something that cost 30$; and coke to find out the girl who answered explained that she is not sure why the girl who was serving us even offered us mango, because they had no mango available for that. I am very upset. We live in Oakdale and there would be no point In driving back to Manteca. We still ate our food and after adding the things we technically paid for, It's pretty decent. It makes me very upset that after so long of me not coming back to this place it's turned to drastically. Definitely won't be returning. And hopefully we were just unlucky here and the girls were not having good day, and not an everyday thing.
Large mangonada with extra chamoy chilli sauce is a go to if you are in the town of Manteca and in search of a spicy, salty dessert. Clean and boutique like mom and pop dessert shop found hidden in a major plaza. Will definitely be back to try more of their items and this time with friends.
Came in today craving something to eat. They recommend the tosticeviche! I loved it!! The ceviche was made from jaiva (imitation crab which I had never tried but I loved it! They don't sell shrimp which I saw a comment that said they didn't have it but the owner herself told me that she's never sold shrimp. The establishment was super clean and the bathrooms for customers only was very clean as well! The new store like this one that opened up has nothing on the Mangonada. :
