La Bodega De Genal - Manilva

We regularly visit Sabinillas and El Genal is now one of our favourite spots on the Paseo Maritimo. It's a great place for watching the world go by and has a fab view of the sea front. The tapas selection varies but each one we have tried has been very fresh and tasty. We particularly like the albondigas meat balls and the cangrejo crab salad. The staff are friendly and helpful and have a relaxed attitude.....it's too hot to rush! They make a mean cocktail too....salut!

This place is a bit quirky, but do not let it to scare you away. If you searching for delicious strong Spanish coffee, good and affordable tapas, relaxing view over Med that is the right place. Its my favourite place on Paseo maritimo: price quality tranquility vice. Their tapas are delicious. I took my relatives and friends here on numerous occasions. Never got disappointed.

Visited La Bodega de Genal a few times and always had first class service and tapa's. The staff are friendly and courteous, the food always excellent. All this with unrestricted views of the Med.

My husband was very impressed with this place, their offer of 3 Tapas and a beer for €6 was very good value. He enjoyed the food and the choice he had was great. On the other had the house wine I had was not at all nice, and the vegetarian tapas were nothing to write home about, I found the mushrooms to be bland and watery, the noodle cake, while unusual at first, was boring after a bite or two and I can't even remember what the third one I got was. Although based on the great reviews, maybe I was just unlucky. Don't let it put you off, give it a try. One of us loved it, one of us couldn't see the charm. It's cheap enough and pretty enough to warrant a trip yourself if in the area.

Chose the place for it's location, right on the ocean, not worth it, food and service were bad and after a visit inside it looked a bit dirty. Go one street over and the places are better.
