Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant doesn’t miss a step. The atmosphere is relaxing with interesting things to look at and the service is excellent. But as it should be, the food is the reason to come back over and over. IT-IS-AMAZING! On the recommendation of our waiter we had the chip and dip plate to start. Do not confuse it with what might automatically come to mind when you hear that description. They have created what can best be described as a humus, but instead of chick peas, it was based on lima beans with garlic, tomato, and cucumber and whatever else their genius chef combined to make a wonderful blend that was bright, savory and simply delicious. It was served with their salted plantain chips for the perfect combination of flavors. What made this especially memorable for us is that my husband hates lima beans and I have never liked “homemade” fried chips of any kind. This appetizer was so good, I was tempted to just skip an entree and order it again. Luckily I didn’t, because I would have missed the best fried chicken of my life! We shared a very generous 5 piece order that came with an amazing biscuit that is grilled with honey butter and accompanied by sliced bread and butter pickles. The owner calls them “fickels” (for fat pickels). We enjoyed a lovely French Chardonnay and topped it off with their take on strawberry shortcake. Truly one of the best meals we’ve ever had! Do yourself a favor and wherever you live, make Hambone a destination in the near future. You deserve it.
This place had one of the best gumbo I've had in a long time. Rich in flavor and texture. It is quite autentic. The Luke's Chicken sandwich was surprisingly delicious. The chicken was juicy and the breading crispy. The surprising portion was how the unique toppings worked so well with each other. The chocolate bar was absolutely worth the extra time. Micheal was a great example of what wonderful waiter. Promot, observant, and friendly.
Had Mother's Day brunch here. Charming little eat spot in old Mandeville with plenty of outside seating. Menu is a bit limited, but it's a small local eatery. Had the mothers day special, along with chicken biscuits, fried boudin and more. All of the food was great- flavorful and great presentation. The one and only issue i had was that all the plates were too small for the food items on them. My biscuit came on just a 4' tin. Highly recommend stopping if you're looking for a nice leisure dining experience. This isn't the place if you're in a hurry. All the wait staff was super friendly, attentive and nice. They are DOG Friendly too!!!
Great food. Fried chicken is to die for! Nice service but a tad slow. We go often and will keep going. Love brunch too!
The food and service are phenomenal. We love this little gem in mandeville. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it is sooooo uncomfortably hot inside the building.....they need fans in the rooms or maybe window units. Sweating while eating wasn't fun. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
