The Banyan Tree - Manchester

We have visited The Banyan Tree several times in the past, but not recently. It seems like there may have been a change in ownership and a slight renovation, which is nice. We usually expect great service and delicious, simple food like loaded fries and burgers with unique toppings. However, with the changes, the menu has also changed. When we arrived at around 11:30, we noticed that the menu mainly consisted of breakfast items and other mains served from 12pm onwards. There were limited options for loaded fries and burgers - only one type of loaded fries and three types of burgers. We ordered nduja scrambled eggs, loaded fries, and a beef burger without tomato but with added cheese and bacon. Despite ordering promptly at 12pm, our food did not arrive until 12:50. The scrambled eggs were decent, the fries were average, and the burger came with cheese but no bacon as requested. When we informed the staff about the missing bacon, they seemed hesitant to make any changes without charging us. They did not check on our meals or ask about our experience once the plates were cleared. Overall, the food at The Banyan Tree was average, and the service was lacking. The decor was nice, but there is room for improvement in terms of customer service. We were torn between giving 2 or 3 stars. In conclusion, while the restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, customer service could use some attention.

This restaurant was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious and the hospitality was top-notch. The Eggs Benedict were perfect and the Portobello mushroom was wow!

This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food is delicious, whether you're there for breakfast or dinner. They are accommodating and knowledgeable about allergens. They offer a wide selection of drinks, including great beer, wine, and cocktails. As a single woman, I felt safe knowing that the attentive bar staff would watch over my drink while I stepped away. They extend this courtesy to customers seated outside as well. The owners have created a welcoming atmosphere that caters to groups of all sizes, as well as individuals. I can't express how much I have enjoyed my experience here all week. I absolutely love this place!

We went and it was some of the best food I’ve had around town actually. The cheeseburger and duck spring rolls were amazing the mocktails too! Everything was perfect highly recommend.

Sunday brunch… was very busy and they managed to squeeze us in. Service and food were both excellent. A little gem of a find!!
