Sinclair's Oyster - Manchester

Good English pub fayre, no oysters though, which was a bit of a disappointment. Had the Whitby Scampi and chips, my partner had the fish goujons. Staff were a little standoffish and not very welcoming, but not rude. Food came out in good time and tasted fresh. Lovely surroundings, the pub itself is the main highlight due to its history.

This pub is one of my all time Manchester favourites. It’s lovely, traditional and homely and digitally detoxing! The staff are lovely and there’s a great selection of drinks. I have a business in Manchester and always visit when I’m back there so I’ve got to know and speak to Rach Selena who run the pub. They work so hard as it’s a busy bar but they always have time to pop over and say hello and ask how things are. They’ve really made the most of this pub and created a truly northern friendly atmosphere. Hats off to you guys and the incredible job you and your team do, keep being amazing! x

I arrived at the pub with my brother and the man on the door was rude and very aggressive and said it was ‘one in one out’ as it was busy. He then shouted at us to move back. I was in town showing my brother the city (he lives in London). I turned to my brother and said I think I don’t want to go in here the doorman shouted at me and asked me what I had said. I was scared for our safety so we left. I said to him that I would report him to the pub owners and he replied “come back at 11…when I finish’. I presume he meant to ‘ fight’? So we never got a chance to enter the pub and if that’s the ‘warm welcome’ I will never visit again. Your door staff are a disgrace.

Great building and historical feel, really nice and welcoming staff and good price on beers, lovely personal touches which add to an already great service

Visited today for lunch,lovely quirky building nice staff, the food was only very “average” with much better locally. My partners lasagne was only “ warm” at best , the 2 small pieces of garlic Bread were limp and insipid. The chef today definitely wasn’t at their best. Definitely wouldn’t be back again for food.
