Bidrage med feedbackWe’d read poor reviews for this restaurant. Not our experience. The most fresh and beautifully cooked plaice. Unbelievable ice cream and we are serious about ice cream. Superb staff. A lovely experience. However not the Maitre’D. Unlike the rest of the staff he was uninterested. Plonked you to your table and spent the rest of the time on his phone. Otherwise perfect.
Do not eat here. Overpriced, overstyled, no idea of food allergies or intolerances, low quality ingredients and preparation, staff show no care for customers. They also added a ‘service charge’ automatically to the bill. It does state ‘discretionary’ at the bottom, but there wasn’t an option provided when paying and this is not appropriate. Especially when service has been poor. My waitress couldn’t pronounce ‘pizza’ (said pisa) and she couldn’t understand me saying ‘wheat’. She brought me the ‘allergy menu’ which wanta menu. It was three huge sheets of paper with tiny lists of what each item on the regular menu contained. Wheat wasn’t even listed, so this was no help at all. No gluten free bread available at all. So I ordered sausages (I’m only wheat intolerant and this seemed a reasonable compromise). They came back to check with me that this option wasn’t gluten free. Great for checking but it only felt like they were watching their own back, not caring what I actually wanted. Sausages had quite a few gristle bits so low quality. There were 3 (peeled) baby carrots only more a garnish than an actual food! No one asked if my meal was ok, neither whilst I was eating or when they cleared. Overall recommendation go to the Holiday Inn over the way. 10 mins walk and well worth it!!
We had a very nice meal at The Collage. Nice starters (soup Korean chicken) followed by Fish Chips. Our waiter was Syeed who was attentive throughout. Thank you for a lovely meal.
Really nice decor, average service, below average and overpriced food for what it is. Mains arrived extremely fast (2-3 mins) which isn’t a bad thing but makes you wonder if it was freshly cooked? Probably not, the Prawn linguini tasted like a microwave pasta with a few cooked prawns thrown on top, portion size was more suited for a child. Sausage mash was like a school dinner. £60 bill for 2 x mains and 2 x drinks, had better meals in local pub for less than £20. Seems too focused on profit rather than a restaurant catering for the customer, what do you expect for Manchester airport though? Better off ordering takeaway to your room if you are staying over. Overall 2/5 probably wouldn’t eat here again.
Visited for a family meal whilst staying at the Radisson. Food was good and the service too. Only one criticism, we could hardly read the menu. The font was far too small and the colour and print was faded. Actually had to get my phone out and use the camera zoom to read it!
