Kaishin Malibu

Without any dinner plans, we decided to use Opentable and stumbled upon this restaurant. The food was excellent, the portion sizes were generous, and the service was commendable. My only concern was that the prices listed on Opentable were noticeably higher than what was shown, although they were still reasonable by Malibu standards. I would definitely return to this place.

The restaurant aims to elevate Chinese cuisine in a way similar to P.F. Chang's, albeit on a smaller scale. The service from the waitstaff was inconsistent, but the food was enjoyable. There was a lovely variety of menu options, and it is definitely child-friendly. The steak was a bit tough and would have been better as a filet cut. Considering the limited dining options in the Malibu area, this place isn't too shabby. With some improvements in direction, it has the potential to become a really great spot.
