Bidrage med feedbackVisited for a lunch with a mixed party of Vegan and non vegans. Separate vegan menu was great and I went for the Cheese and Onion Toastie which was delicious. Do note their chips aren’t fully Vegan as cooked in same oil as some meat products. Had plant based milk on offer. Very friendly staff who understood vegan requirements and warned me about the chips. #Veganuary Updated from previous review on 2023-01-03
The restaurant had a lot of artwork on the walls, a nice variety of vegan cakes and tarts, and some unique drinks. If we had more time in the area, I would have loved to try the beetroot latte. The turmeric latte with oat milk was delicious, although it did stain my mouth yellow.
The food at this café is prepared with care and attention to detail, resulting in both delicious and visually appealing dishes. The café is small and charming, located conveniently on the high street with friendly staff. They are dog-friendly and are currently expanding the seating downstairs to accommodate more guests. Additionally, they support local artists by displaying and selling their work. The seating capacity is limited and they take a 25% commission on art sales, which some may find to be high but is a common practice.
It's great to see some vegan restaurants opening up in Maldon. The cafe has a relaxed atmosphere and it's nice to see it bustling with customers when I stop by for coffee and food. Like many other boutique vegan restaurants, the prices are a bit on the high side, but I don't mind supporting a local business, especially one that is focused on vegan options. Hopefully in the future, they will have the confidence to switch to non-dairy milk.
Great selection of cakes/bites to go alongside coffee. We had the New York style bagel and were honestly thinking about it for days afterwards! Really friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. The coffee is seriously top notch too! #Veganuary
