Bidrage med feedbackCant give a star, been in Malden a long time and never heard of this place. Just read they are closed??
It seems like this restaurant has seen better days. There were only a couple of people at the bar, and the atmosphere felt very local. We ordered crispy wings, but when you notice the white spots on the skin, it’s a clear sign they were freezer burnt—such a disappointment! I'm still on the lookout for a place that can match Wendell's in Norton. I will say, though, that the bartender was quite friendly.
2nd Edit: Owner rechecked the cameras and admitted I was there, and apologized. While it is impossible to gauge sincerity over a yelp message, I figured I 'd at least mention it if that remedies concern for other people. Edit: owner bizzarely and rudely tried to gaslight me telling me to delete the review because they checked the cameras and are claiming I never came in. Unlikely, since my airbnb is on west street a few hundred yards away, and I drove by to confirm. What 's funny is if they reached out without the attitude I would be more than willing to accommodate a compromise. Can 't fault her panic though, based on how crowded it was, I 'd be worried about my business reputation too... Original review: In town for business staying at an AirBnB nearby. Looked up the closest bar so I could get a burger and beer and found my way here after a short walk. As I approach the building I look at the parking lot which was near completely empty walk in at around 9:30-10pm on a Saturday. Confused, I check and see it 's open until 2, so i walk in. The place was near empty with only 5 people in it, all who looked to be regulars. After I sit down and ask if the kitchen was open (since it looked like the place was about to be closed down, despite it only being 9:30ish) the bartender rudely/sarcastically says, it 's been closed for awhile sweetie , as if that was an unrealistic expectation or that I should have known the details of this small bar in some small town. I then ask for a drink and she looks at me and said we don 't take out of state ids . Look, outside the fact that I 'm 30, I get being skeptical, but most well run places would ask for a 2nd form of ID just to confirm. Still, it wouldn 't have bugged me if she didn 't say it so accusatory or loudly explain it to the other patrons as I walked out like she was some fbi agent who just caught one of the biggest criminals of all time. Like lady, let 's be real. If I were a local who was underage and just wanted to get drunk would I really want to be getting drunk at a bar that was completely dead with literally 6 people in it (all over the age of 50)? Do you think college kids with fakes would be like yeah, let 's go to the pub with the 55 year old bartender with busted teeth and no music instead of downtown Boston? Get real and get over yourself. Went to shanghai moon down the street and tipped their bartender (who had all his teeth) 50%.
No hear, cash only. Only people in there were the drunk regulars, they sit and scream yell and swear to the top of their lungs. The food was horrid. I will never go back here again
1. **Baked Stuffed Shrimp (with seafood topping) and a Baked Potato**: Initially, I was really disappointed when I opened the container; it just looked like shrimp with crumbled Ritz crackers on top. But then I took a bite, and wow, those weren't just plain Ritz crackers! The flavor was fantastic, with the perfect balance of garlic, butter, and lemon. Absolutely delicious! 2. **Burger**: My boyfriend ordered the burger, which had received rave reviews here. He mentioned that it might have been better if he hadn’t insisted on a Well Done preparation (he has a thing against pink meat). While he found it a bit overcooked this time, he still enjoyed it a lot—quite an achievement since he’s usually picky! 3. **Baked Seafood Casserole**: We had a similar reaction with the casserole; it looked plain but tasted incredible. My mom said all the fish in it was really fresh and tasty. 4. **Papa Platter**: This was a mix of all the usual appetizers like mozzarella sticks and potato skins. It was actually quite tasty! They provided plenty of utensils and condiments, which was nice. I also ordered a side salad and asked for dressing, but it seems that these days, most places don’t automatically include it on the salad. I should have asked for it on the side because it was drenched in dressing, although it still tasted great. They have increased prices on all the seafood dishes, which is worth noting. My boyfriend ordered a shrimp plate too, but they don’t have sides available, which meant we had to order him a burger meal with fries and my shrimp with fries—way too many sides! I wish they had containers for leftovers. Delivery took a bit longer than expected, around an hour, but considering the distance from my city over, I thought it was reasonable. I will definitely order from them again, although it is a bit pricey now that Captain’s Quarters has reopened in Everett—I can just run there for my seafood cravings!
