Hernandez Mexican - Malakoff

So, I was on my way to my favorite Mexican food place on Cedar Creek Lake. Pulled up and found out they are closed on Mondays. So I head back out of town and remembered seeing a little restaurant I've always wanted to try so I pulled in. Hernandez Mexican Food was a very delightful surprise. I ordered a chicken enchilada with sour cream sauce and a cheese enchilada with chili sauce, refried beans and rice. It was all fantastic!! The service was very good. The salsa and queso was on point and the chips very fresh. I believe I've found my new go to place on the lake. So glad I stumbled upon this little jewel. Definitely recommend and I'll be back.

This is my all-time favorite place for chips and salsa! I've loved this restaurant for the past 20 years. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and even as an adult, it remains my favorite Tex-Mex spot in town! The waitstaff is very friendly, extremely quick, and always gets my order right.

This restaurant really saved the day for us! My husband and I were moments away from becoming hangry after showings and before heading out to go fishing, when he discovered this place online just in time. It truly exceeded our expectations! He ordered enchiladas while I had the Pastor street tacos. They even provided us with two bags of chips and salsa! Everything looked fantastic and tasted even better—not just because we were starving. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were generous for the money spent. It was a shame we couldn't dine in, but we found a shaded parking spot, and a lovely server took our order and delivered it right to our truck. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and just what we needed!
