Yum!Takes a while but so delicious! Sit down and enjoy the atmosphere while you wait it's worth it!I got the roots on fire and the special which was a vegan roll with hamakua mushrooms. So tasty!Vegetarian options: Delicious! This place knows what do to with veggies. Some places just throw in veggies and call it vegetarian, but these folks clearly enjoy their veg and know how to use them.

The vegetarian Buddha bowl was incredibly delicious— super fresh, lots of greens and whatever sauce they made was fire. They have three picnic tables onsite to eat at. Street parking only. This place gets 3 stars for their ridiculously tiny portions— $18 plus tips and the “bowl” came in a tiny appetizer size container, not even entirely full. We were looking forward to this place so much and the disappointing portion size almost completely negated the taste of the food.

I ordered two of the vegan hand rolls. Unfortunately, there was little flavor and substance (protein) to them, probably because the creator isn’t vegan themselves, and they cost $8 a piece. I heard they have other vegan items on the menu so I’ll be returning to give those a try and update my review accordingly. The ingredients were all fresh, the rice was well done and the seaweed was crispy, but the design of the rolls isn’t suitable or appetizing to vegans.

Great hand rolls. Fresh and delicious. Miso soup is simple but amazing as well. If you’re in Makawao this is a must.
