Bidrage med feedbackYoshinoya is a Japanese fast food restaurant known for its beef bowls. Directly translated as Yoshi's shop, since "Yoshi" is a name, "no" indicates possession, and "ya" means shop. This place has an area downstairs where you can order food to-go when you're in a hurry but if not, I suggest you visit the second floor shop. Once you make your way up, you'll appreciate the bright orange color that adorns the interiors of the restaurant, in my opinion, it has a cute vibe to it. I then ordered the Beef Misono meal. It's a rice bowl with Sukiyaki beef cuts. That's how we call these slices of meat in my former job, but not sure if it's a common term for it. Anyway, nothing special really. For Php 150, I think I could enjoy something more. I also wish there was an egg option, like a sunny side up would spruce this meal up a bit. Or maybe, those red colored pickled ginger could add more color and flavor on the rice. I'm sure they're just following standards but this meal is too plain for me. Service here is fast and efficient. I came in at 11am, so most office people haven't come out yet for lunch. I'd say the staff were friendly enough. Location and restaurant rates fair to me... but the food... it must be some sort of Japanese minimalist thing, but it's just too plain for my palate.

This review isn't just for this particular branch but for the chain in general. Yoshinoya is one of my top three go-to Japanese fast food chains in the metro along with Coco Curry Ichibana and Pepper Lunch. We had a chance to eat at a Yoshinoya in Osaka back in '14 and while the rice there is far superior to the one they serve here I still enjoy their dishes so much so that I have it at least once a week. I tend to alternate ordering their Gyudon Beef bowl, Beef Stew bowl (which unfortunately has way too much fat), Beef Gyudon Ramen and their Yakiniku bowl. Sometimes the quality of the meat could be better and the ramen broth is too salty but the taste is consistent and it's pretty much what keeps me coming back.
I guess at its price tag, its worth the money to spend. Nothing surprises me but hey, its a fastfood. hehe.. usually order their set meals, and also red iced tea. I get to taste their ramen but its plain noodles soup cravingetcetera.wordpress.com
I love to order beef misono. Beef is cut thinly, so it is not tough. One bowl is enough to make you full, but if your hunger is of a different level then you should go for Jumbo Plates. The best choice for me is their Jumbo Plate A because it has beef, chicken and veggies. You'll get more meat plus veggies.
