Chaos - Maitland

I just dropped in with a couple of colleagues, as the café we were meeting at was closed. The food was okay, nothing to write home about, but at least the staff gave us privacy to chat and didn't hover.

We just loved the old building in which Chaos is located so we decided to drop in for a cup of coffee. The staff were very friendly and showed us a nice spot to sit after taking or order. They have wonderful fresh cakes and very tasty chocolates and truffles.We were given a free truffle as we had ordered and hot beverage. The coffee was very nice.They have a outdoor area at the back which they are developing so there are choices for seating.It was only later when I looked on the net that I found that this is a new café for owner Chris Cumming. This is a new beginning for the family after his last café was burnt to the ground when it was broken into last September.I was glad we went to the café and when next we are in Maitland we will return to Chaos to lend our support.

Estabar is a wonderfully situated cafe that serves delicious food.

The service at this restaurant is extremely slow. A on-the-go coffee takes 15-20 minutes to prepare and costs $4-5. A small bottle of juice is priced at $5.

I unexpectedly discovered this restaurant during my work trip. It is conveniently situated just a short distance from my hotel.
