Don Pintxo - Mainz

We regularly go there, as this is great. her paella is delicious. take them two separate portions, since the portion for 2 has the same size as for a person (they double only the seafood and the meat). the interieur is stylish and intimate, although the restaurant is full every time. we recommend!

The traditional tapas options here are good, but for the main menu that offers everything, everything comes on large broth pieces. so expensive, since 50% of the meal is only broth. it is recommended to adhere to the main dishes such as paella. recently rebuilt by a traditional German pub, the renovation has maintained most decorative features, but the benches are not comfortable.

We were very pleased that there is a new access in the mainzer Spanish restaurant scene, so we liked to try it out. Don pintxos is missing in every sight (except the location). service: yes, we were there on a Friday night - all tables were outside and maybe 2 - 3 inside, including a group. Given the fact that at least 4 people were in the stake, everything was very slow. After we finished our cava and our mineral water, we needed two calls at the waitress to get more orders. eating was also very slow, it took about an hour to prepare 4 different pinxto dishes and olives. when eating finally arrived after we had asked 2 times, it had no taste at all - we had the oktopus, calamares, bacalau and tintenfisch - no taste at all - what was even more remarkable was the price: two pieces pinxto are it 6,80-7,80 euro, a 3/4l bottle of mineral water costs 6 euro! the best of the evening is the pretty beautiful scenery in the mainzer old town and the cava.

Good food, good service, reasonable price. selection of wines, beer and other drinks. good location, recommended.

We were visiting in mainz and when we were hungry, we saw don pintxo. the experience was very positiw: friendly and polite service. delicious food and great wine. at the end we got some free polvorones (Spanish cookies).
