Bidrage med feedbackThe pub is situated in a pleasant location with a nice atmosphere and well-presented decor. We ordered mushrooms for our starters and haddock and chips for our main course. Unfortunately, our main dish arrived before our starters, and we had to wait a few more minutes for them to be served. It took about 20 minutes for our starter plates to be cleared and over 30 minutes for our main course to arrive. After inquiring about the delay, we were informed that our food had been given to someone else by mistake. Another 15 minutes later, we finally received our main course with just a half-hearted apology. The chips appeared to be frozen oven chips, the fish batter was overcooked and tough, and the minted peas were lukewarm and lacked flavor. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. The pub was busy, but that should not excuse a meal taking over an hour to be served.
I was initially nervous about booking a restaurant for my first anniversary, but a friend recommended The White Horse in Bearsted and I am so glad they did. The country pub exterior was deceiving, as the interior was beautifully decorated with a cozy fireplace and romantic ambiance. The modern yet traditional theme of the restaurant was impressive, and the food was delicious. The presentation of each dish was impeccable, and even the bread and oil starter was outstanding. The desserts were equally as impressive, and my wife and I enjoyed taking pictures of them. Overall, it was a memorable evening and we will definitely be returning. The only downside was the oversized pint of Peroni I ordered. Thank you to The White Horse for making our anniversary so special.
Lovely looking, fairly expensive and not exactly comfort food.Dont be suprised if your handful of chips and tiny tapas costs you a fair penny. I am not saying the food is not good, it is lovely, but it gives you a cold appreciation of food, not that warm hearty inside feeling.I have to say the staff are not that warm either, you can get the feeling that they don't think that much of you.Its nice, and the interior is very very impressive (the shiny surfaces in the toilet cubicals are odd), but if you are that close its worth walking across the green to The Oak on the Green.Mx
Geat food, simple and well prepared. We went for lunch and were impressed with the quality and cost of the meal. The interior has been tastefully made over too.Oh and the Bread was fantastic............Better than Jamie Oliver's FifteenIf you are nearby give it a go.
I went back for dinner last night. The bread was delicious as always, accompanied by tasty oil. The platter featured high-quality meats, cheese, anchovies, and pate with additional bread. The garlic mushroom and flatbread were exceptional. However, the salad dressing was too thick and overly fishy for my liking. Unfortunately, the salad leaves were old, tired, and browning, a regression from my previous experience. The service at the table was good, but the reception service left something to be desired, with too many staff members chatting amongst themselves rather than attending to guests. Room for improvement!
