Pear Tree Tea Room - Maidstone

We visited Tee this afternoon and it was fantastic! The food was delicious, and we couldn't finish everything, so we brought some cakes home in boxes. The staff were polite and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble.

I have visited this restaurant a few times and it is usually good. The waiting staff are all very friendly and helpful. I ordered two cheese and swirl cakes with chips, but when it arrived, one was cold and the other was lukewarm. I mentioned this to a coworker who was apologetic and took them back. When they returned 5 minutes later, one cake was still lukewarm and the other was warmer, but had been swirled with a fork. The waitress explained that the kitchen thought it was warm because the cheese had melted. I pointed out that if something is microwaved, the edges may be warmer than the center, which is basic food preparation. I asked for a refund and for the manager to come speak to me, but they never appeared. A lady on the street sorted it out and apologized. Despite the friendly staff, I believe the kitchen needs to invest in a food thermometer to avoid these issues. I don't like to leave bad reviews, but I wanted to share my experience. The Pear Tree Cafe in the garden center is bustling with customers (a rare sight these days) and offers delicious food and drinks. The staff is courteous, experienced, and extremely accommodating. The use of high-quality ingredients ensures repeat business and that is precisely what you will find at this establishment. I have no hesitation in recommending The Pear Tree Cafe at Ashton Hall Garden Center.

Have eaten here for several years and has never been disappointed. the personal that our courtesy and helpful and eating is always on standard and the cake delicious.

Waited over 25 mins for a full English breakfast despite the cafe only having a few tables occupied. A bit too greasy for me and my request for a hard egg was not granted, although I was told it wasn't a trouble to do me...another one, I am still waiting! At £10 each for a breakfast and cuppa, I shall not be returning in a hurry.
