Palm Thai - Madison

We visited the restaurant on 10/14/23 and I wish we lived closer because the food was absolutely delicious! The Sweet Chili Red Snapper was a standout dish, featuring crispy and tender pieces of fish with a delightful sweet and spicy sauce. I usually enjoy whole fish but prefer not to deal with the hassle of eating it in a restaurant, so this dish was perfect for me. The Volcano Pork Shank (Osso Bucco Style) was a chef special that did not disappoint - the pork was tender and fell off the bone, with a spicy kick. If you can't handle the heat, make sure to request a milder version. The Thai Iced Tea and Lychee Iced Tea were both refreshing and I appreciated the dairy-free option of the Lychee version. I also ordered a Shrimp Pad See Ew to go, which was delicious and not too sweet or salty. The noodles held up well even when eaten the next day. The only downside was that there were only 4 jumbo shrimp in the dish - I would have preferred more smaller shrimp for a better shrimp-to-noodle ratio. The service was excellent and we will definitely return if we are in the area again.

My 9-year-old daughter was almost made ill by the spoiled salmon they served. My Thai tea came with a fly in it. When we went to pay, I was adjusting my tip to $10 because our experience was awful. Honestly, the server didn't deserve any tip at all, but they insisted on a minimum of 15%. I would have been happy to give $100 if the place, food, and service were great. If there was a zero rating option, I would have chosen that. Service: Dine-in.

Ordered take-out through Doordash, pad se yew with beef, Thai green curry with chicken, Tom yum soup with chicken, Thai fried spring rolls. Meat was overcooked and dry, food was not flavorful, dinner prices were steep. Food: 3

Less sweet than other Thai places in Madison. Okay to good services, depending on the volume of customers and orders. The quality is consistent. The prices are on the higher side compared to portions, but you are paying for its consistent quality.
