Metro Diner - Madison

Great food, huge portions, friendly service.... A word... AAZING!

We had a great experience at the bar (counter) with our children as there was a short waiting time for a table. We talked to the bar staff, the manager and the Metro Diner founder, all were so friendly! Amazing work around the house staff, loved our food. The chicken pot cake crust is from Keksteig, so good! Very recommended to visit Metro Diner. Nice to see Nashville.

At noon visited and expected a waiting period. Wait! Seated and immediately helped by a pleasant server. We were served fast despite the full restaurant. Both meals were right and both very good. The big BLT sandwich and house made chips were on point. My chicken pancake was definitely next step. Cold drinks were quickly refilled, servers were knowledgeable and encouraging, and the slurry cake Dessert was very good. I want to find something I complain about, as I find out that this was a big chain of Metro Diners, but the local owner and manager have absolutely negated it. We are impressed!

The food was quite delicious, although the service was a little slow. No shakers were also present. Menu is clear and focuses on “comfort” food. We tried Monte Cristo. Sandwich was delicious, but pommes delicious like old fat. Pickles were excellent. Chili remembers Skyline. The toilets were pretty dirty.

Went there tonight because of all the good reviews from my friends and they were right! I spent a good 15 minutes lookimg at the menu which was very extensive and the prices were very reasonable too. And of all the things they had, I ordered the Western Omelet with hash brown potatoes and toast. The price for that was around 15.00 and that included the drink. The service was fast and the server was very helpful in giving me sugestions on what i should order. The next time i go back I'll probably eat at the counter and watch the cooks work their magic or even go eat at the bar and watch the UK game. And you couldn't even tell this used to be a First Tennessee Bank in a former life. Will be definitely be back for some more great food.
