Early Mountain - Madison

Absolutely gorgeous grounds and Tasting Room. The atmosphere is top tier with ambient big band and jazz music. We tried two flights; one red and one white. I wish the wines were enough of a reason to return. Wines were uninspiring, without much desirable flavor, and mostly tasted like alcohol. I certainly wouldn?t purchase any of the eight we sampled for consumption at a later date. Our meal options were a part of a special event. We sent one dish back as the flavor profileswere inedible. The dish had a strong, malodorous, unappetizing odor that was off-putting to other members of our party. The tenderloin was delicious.

Wine is very good. Beautiful property too, but that's not the straw breaking our backs. What is a bottle of Cab Franc without the service and food we ordered? Minute after minute, with empty stomachs abound, we saw our table and other tables not receive their food before others that had arrived later. The kicker? The staff didn't think about selling another bottle! Where's the upsell to take advantage of our clear distress in need of food with bare glasses designed tocarry Virginia's finest? Clearly, We were clearly thirsty for a refill. Oh, of course, we would have loved to eat our charcuterie board with the wine but after 45 minutes I needed to talk with the staff for help. Let's get this fixed,please.

What a beautiful place to lunch! my man and I have stuffed our wein through the fire before enjoying the delicious artichoke pate and our lunch. service was excellent! we also enjoyed the jazz band in the background and appreciate that we could have a conversation.

Beautiful eating, great service amazing atmosphere. the grilled cheese tomato basilikum soup was perfect for the cold, snowy day! love the wee!

One of our favorite weekends go to spots. love the landscape, eat and wee naturally. our favorite is the “Short rib Sandwich” when they have it. it is seasonal and typical in winter until the spring. they are also dog friendly outside on the terrace that is a big victor in our book. thanks. early mountain!
