Sumo Steak Sushi - Macon

Pickup order was 20 minutes late, gyoza was stone cold and the sushi was rolled very poorly. Over half the pieces fell apart as soon as I touched them. I’ve ordered from here before but this was a super disappointing experience that will most likely have me choose another spot next time.Food: 1/5

This is my go to sushi spot in Macon. I was in town for two days and so stopped for dinner twice getting two specialty rolls each night. First night I got the Green River and the Yummy Yummy rolls. Second night I got the King Kong and Tiger rolls. All four rolls were extremely fresh and very tasty. The service each night was quick very friendly, and they checked on you regularly.

We reserved for a party of 10 and enjoyed every minute of my sister's hibachi birthday! The staff was very welcoming. The chef was spectacular, friendly, and hilarious! Orders were taken with precision. He even added extra garlic butter as requested. They also had vegetarian options. My cousins enjoyed themselves. The food was delicious, hot, fresh, and great portion.For Birthdays, there's a special treatment for the birthday person. Hilarity ensues! There's a cute mask for them to wear and a sparkly cannon candle. It was pure laugh-o-rama fun!I had the filet mignon and scallops, with double rice (they have a hibachi noodle option which I was surprised about) and extra garlic butter. It comes with ginger dressed salad and a mushroom broth. I also had the Fantastic Roll. The sushi rolls are really good with a nice packing roll that wasn't too tight or loose.Reservation Date and Time: 4/13/23 7PMBusy? It was busy, but not packed. My wife and I stopped here on a road trip and it FAR exceeded any expectations we had. We eat quite a bit of sushi and this was honestly some of the best we've had!We each got: spicy kani salad (perfection), the gyoza, and each got miso soup. We got 4 rolls total, all were absolutely great.1. Green river best one we got! Amazing2. King Kong 2nd best one, the sauce and crunch was perfect3. Fantastic really good4. Able fried and pretty heavy, but deliciousOverall this was some of the best sushi we've gotten, and would absolutely be a regular place to go if we lived nearby.
