Bidrage med feedbackRestaurante Carlos is a place we enjoy on the Macau peninsula. Located near MGM Macao, MO, Asott Macao, this is a Portuguese for the Macanese restaurant. Opening hours are 12 - 3 pm (Lunch) and 6 - 12 pm (Dinner) daily. Sometimes they are closed on major holidays such as the Chinese New Year. This is a Portuguese restaurant so you know what you expect on the menu. We have always found service is personal and especially friendly, almost playful at times, at Carlos. You can say that they are used to neighborhood guests, mostly Macanese people with a taste for Portuguese cuisine. What we like here is the Duck Rice (Arroz de Pato), which is served a bit different from anywhere on Macau. It is not like the traditional Portuguese version, which is baked in a pot, but it is served a bit more like traditional Cantonese stirring frits style. But it contains many desserts and a generous part of chorizo and the rice is only slightly oiled. Another important difference that makes the Carlos version unique is the homemade chili sauce that they have with the dish, catering for the Macanese people who, unlike the Chinese near Hong Kong, have an acquired taste for spicier foods. Add the chili to the dessert and the natural aromas are strongly stimulated. Hot? That's just gonna be a few tiny drops. Mix well with the Entenreis in your place. The taste is very large, one of our favorite duckries in all Macau. Enjoy the duckling with a cold Macau beer and finish your meal with a serving Carlos' cool and sweet egg pudding to ease the chilli burning if you accidentally added too much, something I was too often guilty! You leave the restaurant full and happy as we have regularly in recent years.
A small cozy restaurant with very nice and authentic Portuguese food. Since it is small, a prior reservation is recommended.
There were some reviews from others. not as good as I expected that eating is a pricy for it is standard, but is okay to try. it comes in a great part that I and my wife are not able to end it. pluspoint : the staff are super friendly and nice
It serves great Portugese and Macanese food and the staff is courteous and professional. But most importantly, the staff can communicate in English which is invaluable for tourists.
Baked sea bass is good but is definitely overpriced. Iced coffee taste like ordinary tea restaurant style but charging Starbucks price. The bottle of water and the bun (not ordered) were also charged.
