Ordered over the phone for pickup. The lady that answered the phone was not courteous. After the indicated, we went to pick up the order, and the same lady was not nice and was upset with something or someone or us for getting there before the order was ready. At least if the food was good, we would find a reason to recommend the place. Maybe it was a bad day for her, but the customers aren't scapegoats. A small mom and pop restaurant run by a Japanese couple. It was the quintessential shishi restaurant experience the minute we walked in: the faint, soothing Japanese classical music, the decor, and the razor sharp focused master chef working at the counter. My favorite dish of the meal was chirasi bowl, fresh and artfully presented. Hiro Shushi is probably one of the best shishi places in Jersey. I'll definitely come back.
