Brasserie Flora - Luzern

Living in Luzern, I come regularly to this restaurant since 2 years. The service and especially the meal is exceptional: I have been in high-standing restaurants around Switzerland where you pay 200chf/seat and I have to say the meal quality at Flora is not behind. The meal.Each plate is well presented, and always bring some unexpected subtle nuance in the taste that make it great. They change the menu regularly and adapt recipes to seasons. Each meal is well though, equilibrated and great.Price:The prices for a normal dinner with a glass of wine, some entrance, main plate, dessert and coffee would range habitually around 70.- You will get a free "Tapa" while you wait for your meal. Obviously, there is the possibility to take a simple pizza with a soft drink for less than 30.-, but I would strongly recommend to invest for the experience of a full dinner.Service:You will not have a dedicated garçon standing aside of your table, but service is great: they speak several languages, including at least German and English, they are kind and smile to you, provides good suggestions, and are quick in coming. They also have a decent knowledge of protocols.The place:The local is fine and even slightly superior to what you expect for this price, but probably not at the level of the service and meal quality. The place is calm with a just perceptible relaxing music in the background. For most of the tables, you may choose between a sofa seat or a chair. On the table, you find some decoration including (usually) a candle. Note: they recently added a small space for kids.Summary:I strongly recommend this place, they provide a quality service which is adequate for most situations, and all for a very reasonable price.

Gute Qualität zu bezahlbaren Preisen. Freundliche Bedienung.Direkt aus dem Hotel erreichbar. Frühstück sehr gut.

Für schweizer Verhältnisse ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Qualität und Geschmack waren sehr gut, Personal sehr freundlich.

Ristorante-brasserie situato nel centro di Lucerna. L’ambiente è abbastanza raffinato ma senza intimidire, sensazione confermata dal servizio inappuntabile ma sempre sorridente e mai freddo. La cucina è classica ma curata: abbiamo provato un carpaccio di manzo, rucola e grana (fresco) e un piatto tipico svizzero costituito da una salsiccia con contorno di patatine (cotte al punto giusto) e verdure miste, abbondante e saporito. I prezzi sono medio-alti come quasi ovunque in Svizzera (56.80 franchi in due, acqua compresa), ma nel centro di Lucerna ci sono locali più cari.

Had drinks here while waiting for boat up the lake. Service was great. Lots of choice. Location was great. Wines and beers, all good. Would recommend.
