The Dockside Inn - Lunenburg

We came here for bacon-wrapped scallops and stayed for the haddock fish and chips, seafood chowder, and craft beer! We sat on the top balcony facing the dock and water; it was a great day and the food was buttery-fresh. The fish battered but the outcome was very light and perfectly finished. This place is exactly how I pictured lunch would be in Lunenberg. A little old school vibe. The food was good. The view was amazing. I would definitely recommend coming here for the nostalgia feel of Lunenberg

Very nice room. The night we booked was almost a full moon that shone across the water. I managed to see a setting moon at 3am as well that was a beautiful sight. Early morning the bay was calm as a mirror as you can see in the pictures with the review.Air conditioned room with a sofa, queen bed, fridge and coffee maker.Had the opportunity to have dinner here the next night with friends at the restaurant that is on the main floor. Our server was very friendly and took the time to chat with us and make us feel welcome. All the best to you to finish your 4th year. And don't get carded. ?. You'll remember who we were.Rooms: Clean floors, clean room, clean bathroom. Towels were fresh and a big TV if you were so inclined to watch it instead, when you had a beautiful view out the windowsNearby activities: Local craft displays, museums and boutique shops and restaurants nearby.Walkability: All the nearby activities are within walking distance of the core Lunenburg shore.Food drinks: Attached restaurant has traditional seafood fare

I will forever be obsessed with Dockside inn and restaurant. My mom and I were vacationing the first week of November all through NS. Before arriving I had spoke with an employee Kyle about having some wine and beer in our room for when we arrive and that I was having flowers and balloons sent over as it was my mom's 70th. Kyle was so helpful with organizing everything with the local florist (Seaside Flowers) and made organizing everything seamless. I had asked for a balloon on a stick to put in her flowers and when we got to our room they had gone over and beyond with big balloons and set everything up nicely. Our room was so big and had a fantastic view. The room was outdated but it was clean, very comfortable and had everything we needed. The next morning we had a very yummy breakfast. Our service was great. Thankfully because we came in the off season, the service staff had more time to talk with us. The owner Mike and his son Kyle 100% made my stay and overall visit to NS very memorable. They were able to talk with us about the history of the building, Lunenburg, the harbor, surrounding areas etc., I could have talked to them for hours to be honest. Kyle even pulled out an old school project he has saved with the history of Dockside and Lunenburg and we loved it. I had no idea that part of Dockside Inn was the original Captain Highliner's building before they moved elsewhere! I even got to open the old vault door and have a peak inside. I personally love finding out about all the cool history so this really made my stay. We came back for another night later in the week and were upgraded to another beautiful, more updated room that I want to rent out for life. It had a great big bathroom, brand new stocked kitchen, and the view was perfect. Location couldn't be better either. I have read previous reviews about slow service and one time we did have to wait a few beats to get our first drink but overall everyone was super friendly and zero complaints. I came for lunch 2 years ago in July and they were slammed busy and we still got great service, however being an Ex-server, I knew they were so busy and we wouldn't be getting the same one on one I got this visit. While this is not the Hilton or Trump hotels (thank Fahk for that), it is charming, beautiful, friendly, close to everything you need, and the only place in Lunenburg I will be booking to stay.Thank you to Mike, Kyle and all of the staff who made our trip fantastic! I will be back110% and can't wait to see you all again!! Oh and they have a really good veggie burger and poutine and my mom loved her stir-fry!Safety: Never felt unsafe once in the hotel or in Lunenburg and I was up late going outside frequently as well. Passed many people and always felt safeWalkability: Close to everything you need in Lunenburg!! Could not get a better location!

We arrived from our cruise ship on Tuesday October 17, 2023 on the. Norwegian Pearl, was seated for lunch and then completely ignored. No service to our table. The couple who came in afterwards and was seated behind us were serviced first and no one even acknowledged our presence. We waited and no one came. We got up and left and told the hostess why we were leaving and they did not try and apologize. Horrible service. I do not recommend any tourist visit this establishment.
