La Unica Tortilleria - Lufkin

Amazing. This is hands down the best Mexican food in Lufkin (possibly in all of East Texas). It is probably my favorite place in all of Lufkin in general. Literally every time I have eaten here it has been amazing.

We traveled from out of state in search of authentic Mexican cuisine, and the reviews pointed us to this restaurant. As soon as we walked in, we noticed the clean atmosphere and well-spaced tables. A friendly young lady took my order in English after realizing that my Spanish skills weren't the best. The chips, along with the salsa and pico de gallo, arrived at our table and were both delicious. When our meals came, they were served hot! Everything was well-seasoned, the eggs were cooked to perfection, and we were extremely satisfied with our food! It was truly authentic! After our meal, I checked the restroom, and it was clean and smelled fresh. No complaints at all—only positive feedback! This place is truly "La Unica"! With a full parking lot, it’s definitely a must-visit if you're in Lufkin!

Very good, got 6 tamales, pork skins and Chuck of pork. Was 11 bucks not expensive but not cheap. Came with chips and salsa but needed more sauce/salsa

I wasn't sure what to expect since I'm not from the area and was influenced by the reviews. Wow! The food was by far the best Mexican cuisine I’ve ever had (and I’m not even Mexican). I spoke with the staff, and a very kind woman took the time to explain the menu to me. Don't let the appearance of the place fool you for even a moment. If you're looking for incredible flavors, this is the place to be—ignore all the others! You definitely won’t regret it!

Pozole was good but could use a little more. Barbecoa is brisket but very good.
