Hear about Camp Cabarita from a friend, and decided on it based on the website. From the get go, Ryan (the owner) was extremely helpful. Set us up with airport gateside pickup. Then Buddy, the on site manager, picked us up. Camp is located up in the mountains, and you would be hard pressed to find a better place. The bar/restaurant is US standard, even though you are about as remote as you can get. Rooms are beautiful, double screened cabanas. All the food is grow literally right there at camp. The back property line is a river as warm as bathwater and crystal clear. Dwight and James are two knowledgeable old gentleman that take care of everything from giving you knowledge of local herbs to cooking your meals to serving you drinks. The remote, peacefulness of Camp is one of the things that is most unique. Your vacation will take a more introspective, contemplative turn when you are not at the river or walking the backroads of Jamaica. We are already planning to come back.
This place is spectacularly beautiful. Highly recommended. Great food, great vibes, wonderful staff. Couldn't speak more highly of it and glad we made it here!
That was my third stay in the camp. It always feels like coming home... Staff Buddy and Dwight are amazing. Breakfast and lunch is perhaps the best you can find on the island only fresh and of course tell them what you want and you will have an unforgettable touch experience. The entire staff also tries to make your stay in the camp unforgettable. There are so many activities you can plan with them in and around the camp. You will find 100 pure quality time with many adventures. Camp Cabarita will surely see us again in the future...
The location, the mood, the natural beauty, the river...Camp Cabarita is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Jamaican countryside best. The river Cabarita has this aaaamazing healing energy. I feel rejuvenated at any time when I soften in its crystal clear water. The temperature of water and minerals in it...maaan my skin loves it. My mind loves it. My spirit loves it! The crew that leads things in the camp will take care of you. Providing natural juices, fresh jelly coconut water, traditional Jamaican meals and all to good vibes, you always go the extra mile to ensure that you are comfortable and irie. Every morning at the camp I lift myself and thank you for diving Fiebergrass tea, sun shades and enjoy the amazing views of the Delphinkopfberge from the upper yoga deck. On a typical day in the camp you can decide to go on adventures at Mayfield Falls, to the cave embedded in the mountain, in a cooking shop / bar with the super friendly locals, or relax in the lodge with fans, music, and your choice of hammock!!!! Love it!. Last Chill Spot! The place is warm, air is super clean, the night sounds....oooh the night sounds like Jamaica. I miss it when I'm gone. One of my favorite evening activities makes a bamboo fire... the place is filled with bamboo and fruit trees during the day. The cottages are simple and comfortable. Each equipped with mosquito net, private bathroom, Jamaican artwork and Wi-Fi. I can choose to plug in and do some work, or unplug, that's something I don't get a chance to do often. The showers... one of the many beautiful examples of local craftsmanship. What a treat in the evening to keep a fresh and glimpse of the sky full of stars. Camp Cabarita is one of my favorite places to stay in Jamaica. As soon as you leave, you will know! Really a jewel!
The best experience, the best retreat at the best place! I was there twice, once with my husband and second time with friends. The camp is simply amazing, peaceful and quiet, bamboo houses surrounded by cliffs, the unique sound of nature and water flowing, we were treated like family and had the best foods of our trip, we also enjoyed some activities such as cave walk and waterfalls, we were shown the best beaches where there is no lot, how it can be better. Now I want to go back to Jamaica mostly go back to Camp Cabarita and be with Buddy, which can be the best host there. We were blessed to find this place and people and I recommend to everyone who is willing to have a true Jamaican experience and people who respect the place because it is valuable!
